Ministry In The Spirit Of Excellence

  • Hurricane Harvey Relief Collection

Currently many families and individuals have been displaced and impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Thousands of people are in shelters and conditions of devastation are widespread in the Houston area. How we can help now is to pray for the victims and give to the cause of support. Currently it is too dangerous for volunteers to go in, but when possible pray about going to volunteer. The SBC has 70,000 trained volunteers waiting to be deployed, and 1500 mobile units. Your monetary donations will help us as a church to assist and contribute to the recovery efforts and possibly assist volunteers getting there. To give via the church website put “hurricane relief” in the comments section or go to the church app and select Hurricane Relief Fund.

The Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware (BCM/D) is also collecting material donations for hurricane victims. Please drop off items (see list in bulletin insert) in the designated bin in the Multipurpose Room.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month
Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow… Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. Pray for us (pastors); for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably (Hebrews 13:7, 17-18). Please be generous in showing your appreciation to Pastor Sterling and our Staff Pastors for their labor in the Lord. We will recognize Staff Pastors (make checks payable to them) on Sunday, October 8th and to Pastor Sterling (make checks payable to Pastor Sterling) on Sunday, October 15th. Monetary gifts can be made through e-giving, Paypal or you may use the designated envelopes located in the pews.
