Administrative Professional Day

Ø       This Wednesday, April 27th is Administrative Professional Day. Please take time out this week to express appreciation to our administrators Trevionne Smith and Beverly Gaskins for the support they supply Kettering Baptist Church.

 

 

KBC Missions Weekend

Ø       The KBC Missions Ministry is participating in a Missions Weekend, hosted by Sky Croft Conference Center in Frederick, MD.  The mission includes feeding the homeless, street evangelism, light construction and other volunteer activities.  The dates are from Friday, April 29th, to Sunday, May 1st.  The departure time on Friday will be 3:30pm and the return time on Sunday will be 1:30pm.  There are a few paid slots available for KBC members.  If interested please contact Sis. Youth Ministry

Ø       Youth Lock-In - All youth ages 11-18yrs are invited to come hang out overnight at Kettering on Friday, April 29th @ 7pm for a time of games, food, music, and more.  The cost is $5 per person and your youth must be picked up Saturday, April 30th by 7:30am. Please bring your sleeping bags.  Sign up will be available after each service today.

Ø       Summer Youth Retreat - Come join the youth ministry on June 24th - 26th at the Skycroft Conference Center for the summer youth retreat. The theme for this year is “You Have Been Changed” for ages 11-18yrs. This retreat is designed to equip and empower our youth to seek out God in every area of their lives. The cost for this retreat is $100 if paid in full by today and $120 thereafter. Monies will be collected after each service.

 

 

Music Ministry

Ø       50+ Men’s Day Choir We invite and encourage ALL men of Kettering to come be a part of the 2011 Men's Day Choir. You do not need to be a current member of the Men's Choir to participate. The rehearsal schedule is as follows: Thursdays at 7pm on April 28th and May 5th and Saturdays at 10am on April 30th and May 14th. For more information, please see Bro. James A. Ø       100+ Voice Women’s Day Choir "Sisters Experiencing the Fresh Wind in Unity and Love" - We cordially invite and encourage ALL women of Kettering to come be a part of this special Women's Day Choir. You do not need to be a member of any choir to participate. The rehearsal schedule is as follows: Monday, May 16th at 6pm, Saturdays, May 21st and June 4th at 2pm, and Thursday, June 9th at 6pm. Scholarship Ministry

Ø       Honor Roll Students-The Scholarship Ministry would like to acknowledge our third quarter honor roll students.  Please leave a copy of your child's report card in the Scholarship Ministry mailbox by Wednesday, May 4th.

Ø       2011 Graduation Recognition Program- The Scholarship Ministry is planning the 2011 Graduation Recognition Program to be held on Sunday, June 26th at the 10:15am service.  In preparation, the Scholarship Ministry is requesting that students graduating from nursery through graduate/professional school by June 30th complete a survey that is located in the KBC and Roosevelt foyers.  Completed surveys should be placed in the Scholarship Ministry mailbox or emailed to scholarship@ketteringministries.org no later than May 22nd.  To obtain, an electronic copy, please send your request to the above email. “Experiencing Fresh Wind Through Unconditional Love” Marriage Conference

Ø       Married couples mark your calendars for November 10th-12th, 2011.  We will be traveling to the Eden Brook Resort in Lancaster, PA to enjoy the fresh wind of unconditional love as God loves.  The cost, which includes meals and accommodations for 2 days, is $400 per couple and $475 if a king suite is preferred.  A non-refundable deposit of $75 is due by May 8th.  Final payments are due by September 25, 2011. WMU Health Kit Collection

Ø       The Women’s Missionary Union is collecting items to go into health kits.  The following items are needed: large bath towels, washcloths, large bars of soap, shampoo (reg. size), toothpaste (large), toothbrushes (adult), heavy combs, deodorant (reg. size).  Please place items in the container provided in the foyer at Kettering by Wednesday, May 11th.

 

Women’s Enrichment Ministry

Ø       Ladies’ Movie Night-The Women's Enrichment Ministry will host a fun-filled event for the women of KBC to mingle, enjoy a great movie, laugh and talk about the movie’s spiritual implications. So, please join us for Ladies’ Movie Night on Friday, May 7th at 7pm in the main sanctuary at KBC.  We are encouraging all women (18 yrs and above) to come out. Ø       KBC Women’s Conference-The Women’s Enrichment Ministry is hosting a "Sisters Experiencing the Fresh Wind in Unity and Love" Conference on

Ø       Saturday, June 11th from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The cost for this event is $60 (Non-Refundable) per person which covers continental breakfast and lunch, held at the Marriott Greenbelt, 6400 Ivy Lane Greenbelt, Maryland.  Our guest speaker will be Dr. Shelia Bailey of Dallas Texas. We are encouraging each woman of Kettering to attend this extraordinary event as we become one and experience unity and love, Ephesians 4:12-16. Hurry Seats are limited! Payments will be collected 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Begin paying today through May 15th in Room 204 at Kettering and the front foyer at Roosevelt following each service.

 

Vacation Bible School

Ø       All children entering 1st grade through those entering 5th grade are invited to join us for Daytime VBS the week of June 20th -24th.  The cost is $85 for the regular hours between 9am-3:30pm and $95 for beforecare and/or aftercare hours from 8am-4:30pm. The price includes field trips, lunch, and an afternoon snack.  Registration begins Sunday, May 29th after each service.  There are only 25 slots available so sign up quickly. 

Ø       Helpers are needed for daytime and evening VBS taking place June 20th-24th.  If you are interested, please sign up on the bulletin board at Kettering or call Pastor Pearson@ 301-336-7150.  Information about training is forthcoming.

 

2011 Experiencing Fresh Wind Men’s Retreat

Ø       Come and join the men of Kettering as we experience a fresh wind and retreat from the daily grinds of this world to get alone with God, fellowship with one another and hear a word from God.  This event will be held on October 13th -15th, at the Bolger Center in Potomac, MD.  There will be spiritually renewing classes, iron sharpening events, comfortable accommodations, and buffet style meals.  Small monthly payment plans are available to cover the cost of $309 per person for a double room and $338 for a single room.
